Code of Conduct
At Single Parents Friendship and Community UK our priority is to create a safe and inclusive environment for all members both online and at in person events. This code of conduct applies to all SPFC spaces including Facebook, Whatsapp, Teams, Events and any associated platforms.
By participating in SPFC you agree to follow the standards below.
1. Respect and Kindness
All members are expected to:
- Be kind, empathetic and respectful
- Avoid judgement, exclusion or passive-aggressive behaviour
- Communicate respectfully even when opinions differ
2. Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech or Bullying
SPFC does not tolerate:
- Bullying or harassment
- Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism
- Discrimination based on race, religion, culture, gender, identitiy, disability or background
3. Privacy and Confidentiality
- What is shared within SPFC spaces should stay within SPFC
- Do not share screenshots, messages, personal information or member details outside of the community
- Respect everyone's right to privacy
This applies to online spaces and events.
4. This Is Not A Dating Platform
SPFC is a friendship and community platform and not a dating platform.
- Sexual posts or posts actively seeking dates will be removed
- Unwanted attention, messaging or flirting is not acceptable
- Behaviour that makes others uncomfortable may result in immediate removal.
Genuine connections may happen naturally but this is not the communities purpose.
5. Respect Admin and Volunteers
Admins, hosts and volunteers give their time to keep SPFC safe.
- Treat admins, hosts and volunteers with respect
- Abusive or disprespectful behaviour towards them will not be tolerated
6. No Promotions or Spam
- No self-promotion, spam or irrelevant links
- No advertising external groups, businesses or events not approved by SPFC
7. Event Attendance and Behaviour
When attending SPFC events you agree to:
- Respect everyone attending
- Follow the host's guidance and event decisions
- Treat venues and staff kindly and leave spaces as you found them
- Be inclusive and considerate of others be mindful of families with allergies, disabilities or additional needs
- Supervise your own children at all times unless stated otherwise
- Drink responsibly and take responsibility for your own behaviour
- Do not bring illegal substances to any event (zero tolerance)
8. Members Only (Unless Approved)
- Events are for group members only unless admin approval is given
- Do not bring guests without checking first
- Group members will always be priortised for event spaces
9. Event Forms and Safeguarding
For safeguarding purposes:
- Members must complete the event form before attending group events
- Event hosts must ensure all attendees have completed the form
- Information is handled confidentially in life with GPPR
- Information is only shared in emergency or safeguarding situations
10. Refund Policy for Events
- Once tickets are purchased or fees paid refunds cannot be offered as events cost money to organise and often require upfront payment. If you can no longer attend you may sell your ticket to another current member.
11. Banned Members and Drama Free Space
- Banned members must not be discussed in chats, events or online spaces
This rule exists to protect everyone's privacy and keep SPFC a calm, safe and drama free space.
12. Breaches of This Code
If this Code of Conduct is breached SPFC may:
- Issue a warning
- Remove content
- Remove the member from the community
All decisions are made to protect the wellbeing of the wider community.

SPFC exsists to reduce loneliness, build friendships and create a genuine sense of belonging. We are committed to maintaining a space where everyone feels safe, valued and supported.
